ATTIC TREASURES
Sky Light Center operates a Thrift Shop several afternoons a week. The Thrift Shop is a part of the Clerical Unit and is run side-by-side with members and staff. The shop offers members access to affordable items that have been donated by community members, local merchants, purchased at the Dollar Store, or offered by The New York City Clothing Bank.
Items offered include:
- Clothing
- Household items
- Furniture
- Personal care items (purchased from a local Dollar Store)
- Shoes
- Jewelry
- Children’s items
- Books, CD’s & videos
- Knick Knacks
Items are sold* to our membership at very low prices. After operating costs are deducted, the remaining income is utilized for our members in the form of an emergency fund as well as a fund to pay for trainings, conferences and workshops.
*The New York City Clothing Bank donations that are given to Sky Light Center several times a year offer new clothing and other necessities at no cost to members.
ATTENTION POTENTIAL DONORS: Sky Light Center is a nonprofit 501(3)C organization. Our charitable organization designation offers donors the ability to claim a tax credit for any and all items donated. A donation letter will be given upon receipt of donations. Also, donations can be dropped off at Sky Light Center or we will gladly pick them up at your convenience.
